WHO IT FITS
Some honest self-selection.
I'd rather you find out here than an hour into a call. Both of these columns matter equally, and the one on the right is not a footnote.

Worth a conversation
People this tends to fit
You've been let go, or you can see it coming.
A package and some time is a genuine opportunity, and it's also a clock. Deciding under time pressure is where people make expensive mistakes.
You've sold something, or you're about to.
You're liquid, you've done it before, and you're not built to do nothing.
You've had a good career and you're done building someone else's thing.
You've led teams, solved problems, carried a number. The skills transfer better than you'd think.
You want to own without running the day-to-day.
Some models genuinely work that way. Many don't. Knowing the difference matters.
You want to build something as a family.
I've done exactly this, with my wife and two of my daughters. I can tell you what it's actually like.

People this tends not to fit
You want to be told what to buy.
I won't do that. If you want a recommendation without a process, I'm the wrong person.
You're looking for something passive.
Franchises are not passive investments. Some are less hands-on than others. None run themselves.
You need this to work immediately.
Most new businesses lose money before they make it. If the timeline is urgent, the pressure will make you decide badly.
You're not willing to follow a system.
The system is what you're buying. If you're going to want to change everything, you want your own business, not a franchise. That's a completely respectable answer.
Your spouse isn't on board.
I've watched this go wrong. It isn't worth starting.
